Meso-Lipo Therapy

What is Meso-Lipo Therapy?
Meso-lipo therapy (aka “Mesotherapy") is the breakthrough cosmetic medical practice that allows patients a non-invasive remedy to a variety of conditions:

Mesotherapy is a revolutionary approach to fat reduction, beauty and pain that can easily take the place of surgical interventions with an equally desirable outcome. It is a treatment backed by more than 50 years of development and research - not some hocus pocus. Mesotherapy was developed by Dr. Michel Pistor in France, where it has been used since 1952. Mesotherapy is widely practiced in France where there are more than 15,000 practitioners and is gaining popularity in the US and Canada.

What Does Mesotherapy Involve?
Mesotherapy is the superficial micro-injection of vitamins, amino acids, homeopathic or traditional medication into the mesoderm (middle layer of skin). The chosen formula acts as a “medicinal bullet” that is delivered directly to a target in the body. Selective injection directly into problem areas has several advantages: smaller doses, site-specific localization and using the skin as the delivery system allows for efficient time-release.

Each session lasts approximately 20-30 minutes and injection depths range (2-6mm) depending on the area(s) to be treated.

*Mesotherapy works by stimulating the body to heal itself in those targeted areas

How Do I Know if Mesotherapy is Right For Me?
Mesotherapy is the perfect alternative to liposuction and is a vast improvement over other invasive surgical treatments. It is the only non-surgical treatment available for “spot reduction” and body sculpting. Unlike surgical interventions, mesotherapy does not require hospital admittance, general anesthesia or downtime.

Ideally, you should be within 30 lbs of your ideal weight for your body type and height before considering mesotherapy for weight loss. Mesotherapy is recommended for adults between the age of 18-75 who are in general good health.

Cellulite is an accumulation of fat, fluid and toxins trapped in a hardened net-work of connective tissue fibers in the mesoderm, generating an environment of poor circulation which makes repair and healing difficult. Mesotherapy shrinks the fat cells and increases the circulation in these targeted areas, thereby repairing the connective tissue. To be more specific, the “puckery” look of cellulite results from a deficiency in the veno-lymphatic system, resulting in the production of abnormal nodules of fat. The mesotherapy injections reach the subcutaneous fat, breakdown the fat nodules and increase lymph and venous flow.

The end result is a smoother, more even-toned appearance in place of the “dimpled” or “orange-peel” like skin. The most commonly targeted areas in women are the upper legs and buttocks. Approximately 6-12 weekly treatments are required in order to achieve these results, but within 4 weeks significant results seen. In general, a loss of 2-4 inches can be expected.

Mesotherapy for Weight Loss and Spot Fat Reduction
In general, the same principles apply for weight loss and spot-fat reduction as for cellulite. It is mainly used to target excess fat in lower abdominal area (abdominal “pouch"), love handles, thighs, upper arms, buttocks, waist, chin. This therapy works very well for both men and women in areas where diet and exercise have failed.

The fat deposits flush out of the specific areas treated and (unlike liposuction) the body does not gain the weight back in other areas. As the fat dissolves, it is carried through the blood stream and excreted by kidneys and bowel. Losses of 2-6 inches are possible from stubborn areas within 6-10 sessions.

Although the treatment works best when combined with proper diet and exercise, it is not necessary. A 1994-95 study by UCLA researchers concluded that women who had mesotherapy injections lost weight without diet or exercise. In addition, an NYC doctor and mesotherapist reported 95% of 1,000 patients she treated over 6-mos period responded to therapy and 85% were happy with the results.

We strongly recommend incorporating proper diet and lifestyle practices with the mesotherapy treatments in order to achieve the most benefit from your investment.

Mesotherapy for Skin Rejuvenation
Mesotherapy for skin rejuvenation of the face and neck (also known as “Biopuncture Anti-Wrinkle & Face Lift” results in the metabolic activation of skin cells, which in turn stimulates natural collagen and elastin production. The end result is a reduction in the appearance of existing wrinkles. It also helps prevent new wrinkles from forming. Anyone between the ages of 20-60 can benefit from the therapy. Approximately 8-10 consecutive treatments are recommended to acheive the desired result, with a follow-up visit every 1-3 months to maintain the skin’s youthful appearance.

Are There Side Effects?
There are NO significant side effects of mesotherapy! Mild bruising and soreness can be expected after a treatment - much like when you’ve overworked a muscle - easily manageable with the post-treament application of cold laser/photo-light stimulation and Traumeel (topical and/or oral).

What is The Cost of Treatment?
The cost will vary depending on the area(s) to be treated. Individualized one-on-one consultation will give you an idea of what can be expected and how many sessions may be reasonably required to achieve the desired outcome.
